Learn Fiore’s 1409 combat system
We study the original manuscript, translations, and modern interpretations to learn what the master said. Then we work to safely physically reproduce the combat moves described using our collective decades of martial arts experience to inform our efforts.
Adapt Fiore’s techniques and mindset to SCA combat forms
Once we understand the period techniques that were very effective at wounding and killing, we work to adapt them to effective and safe sport combat techniques that can be used in SCA armored, cut and thrust, and rapier. Then we use them on the field.
Share both the original and adapted techniques widely
We share our work through classes at University, demonstrations at Kingdom A&S Festival, a website with our class materials, and a YouTube channel with clear demonstrations of Fiore’s plays. We have created training tools such as flashcards to aid students in learning stances and terminology.
